These words from Dostoyevsky appear in the opening pages of artist O.B. De Alessi's new Kiddiepunk publication, "I Murder So That I May Come Back" and go a long way towards establishing a tone for the images and narrative that follows.
"The idea for this zine came quite quickly while I was having a conversation about serial killers", says De Alessi. "At the time, I had been thinking a lot about a sense of guilt, the weight of guilt, and the way evil and innocence can co-exist within one person, and this brought my focus to children serial killers. I read about a couple of cases and took some inspiration, but I mostly wanted to create a story of my own, that could summon a mood of heaviness and isolation."
This haunting 32 page, risograph-printed zine is available in a limited edition of 50 copies. All copies also come with a special print, signed and numbered by the artist.
